I found creating a website a similar kind of experience. On a long list of writing exercises I've attempted and hated over the years, writing about myself in the third person rates right up there with ... well, let's just say it tops my list of least favourites. Even above the Philosophy 101 essays about the chair.
But it is done. And it looks beautiful, thanks to the very clever Katrina from The Media Maid, and a dear friend who created the header images there (and here) for me.
So now I have an 'official' website to go with my official Facebook page. Any minute now I'll come up with an 'official' use for both. In the meantime, I'll just be hanging out here...

DeleteI love it! I love the way all the info is combined in a succinct but appealing manner. The colours and images are inviting and not all stuffy and super formal. But they aren’t cheesy and still look professional. It is warm. Which is the impression I get from you and your writing. Warmth.

ReplyDeleteI love your new site, looks gorgeous, I am loving less the fact that you've just reinserted Billy Idol in my head; I had one of his CDs in my car stereo for far too long last month and had only just got White Wedding off eternal repeat in my brain.

Oh Allison it looks terrific! I meant to have a look earlier when I saw your link on FB, but became sidetracked (as I so often seem to be!) But the website is very cool and very easy to navigate. I especially like that last line on your 'About' page, a novel next year... that is just awesome!
