By the time you read this, I will be luxuriating in a hotel room with fresh white sheets, room service and a TV with a remote control that I will not have to share with anyone. No-one.
For, you see, I will be all by myself.
I'm off to the Big Smoke to do 'Coffee', among other things, and this time, rather than cramming myself into my friend A's son's bottom bunk (my usual level of accommodation when I head to the Big Smoke), I've gone to lastminute.com and booked myself some solitude.
I'm a little bit excited. I will miss my boys, of course, but it has been a long time between Do Not Disturb signs. Catch you on Wednesday!
When was the last time you checked into a hotel by yourself?

oh enjoy your break! I was just thinking its time I did something like this, a refreshing timeout, sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like heaven. I get giddy if I get to go to the supermarket by myself. I'd probably wet my pants with excitement at a whole night by myself.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the big smoke and the 'coffee'.
Blocks ears. *not listening not listening* Sounds divine. Enjoy! x
ReplyDeleteSeriourecherché last time I checked into a hotel by MYSELF without friends or husband, OVER 10 years!!!! thank you for putting this at the top of my list for 2012. Have a fab time!!
ReplyDeleteThat first word was meant to be 'seriously the'. Bloody iPhone autocorrect :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is honestly my number one Mummy fantasy!
ReplyDeleteI would sleep, order room service, sleep, book a massage, sleep, read a book, sleep and then sleep a little more.
Enjoy!
honestly Never got the chance..anyways have fun :)
ReplyDeleteOH!! that sounds like a little bit of heaven, right there....
ReplyDeleteENJOY!!
Sounds like sweet heaven. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely time! :)
ReplyDeleteThe last time? I haven't EVER booked into a hotel by myself. Sounds like bliss! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOh - never.
ReplyDeleteBut you might be changing that for me with this post!!
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
:-)
My idea of bliss. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteFavourite. thing. ever. and pretty much never ;) ENJOY!
ReplyDeleteWow! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteBlogging PR junkets? People ask me why? THIS is the reason why - to ability to check into clean white sheets in a lovely hotel all by myself.
ReplyDeleteENJOY!
xx
Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh, and Never... must be about time!
Oooh LOVELY! I get this when my husband goes out at night and Mr 2 is in bed. I just sit there in the living room and revel in the fact that I can do ANYTHING I want! Well pretty much anything ;)
ReplyDeleteOne of the only reasons I miss my previous corporate life. The travel. The quiet hotel rooms. Mars Bars on tap. And not even caring if I get chocolate on the white sheets while I eat my Mars Bar in bed. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI actually told Mr Black yesterday I need a break. I need solitude, and time to do NOTHING.
ReplyDeleteI don't like my chances, but maybe I can have a little getaway. No phone, nothing.
Oh, a good idea to have a wee escape just before the school holidays... which totally mean noise and chaos in our house...
ReplyDeleteI hope you're enjoying yourself! Look me up! x
ReplyDeleteJust in case you need a reminder of what you are missing, my Miss 2 is currently screaming out that she is NOT tired. I have dishes still to do and lunches to pack for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSoak it up while you can.
Have fun! I did this a couple weekends ago -- two nights by myself in London. And it was fantastic. I try to do it a couple times a year and always get other mums telling me, 'Oh, my husband couldn't cope if I went away for even one night'. Yeah? Suckers!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break!
ReplyDeleteI'm the flip side. I spend two nights or more a week in a hotel room with work and after fourteen years it does nothing but make me wish I was home...
Sure it's clean, usually quiet, with room service and maids, and trendy decor but...
Bottom line? There's no husband, no dog, no food in the fridge that's calling me. Perhaps when I stop doing my current job I'll appreciate it again!
And just to clarify - I don't work in the hotel room -just spend the night there and fly out the next day!
Oh yay! A hotel room to oneself is like Heaven (except if it's a common occurance, then it becomes drudgery). I used to travel for work a couple of times a year and the best part was the quiet of the hotel room at night... and no dishes to wash! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI try to do this once or twice a year. A couple of nights of serenity.
ReplyDeleteHusbands can cope just fine if they have to :)
A hotel room all to yourself with room service....heaven.
