Give me an O for osteopath

So, I found myself on my back today, with one knee pressed up somewhere near my left ear, my right hand gripping my left forearm and a large man with a towel in his hands leaning on my top half with all his weight.

Comfortable.

My knee slipped a little further into my earhole, my hand gripped my arm more firmly, he leaned a little harder and - CrrrAACkK! Some small portion of my back clicked and clunked and cracked it's way back into position. My breath left my body in a huge whooshing gasp.

"Right," he said, leaning back, and swinging the towel up across his shoulder. "That wasn't quite as satisfying as I'd hoped. Come back on Friday and we'll try again."

True story.

I'm still limping. But not as badly.

Friday's the day.

  8. I used to work for a chiropractor for 6 years so I get this. But I feel the CA (chiropractic assistant) in me should advise against the use of the 'cracking' terminology. As it scares the crap out of people LOL!

I see my chiro fortnightly, couldn't do without it not just for my back but health in general. I'm sure your Osteo will get you back to your normal self in no time. Hugs x

  9. Does this mean camping is off the list of 'things we do to get out of the fibro'? Feel better soon. x

  12. Even the word 'osteopath' sounds painful. Hope Friday does the trick!

  13. Hilarious. I love my osteopath. She's not a 'cracker' but an amazingly intuitive 'fixer'. Hope Friday meets your expectations.

  15. Wow....camping is not your friend! I hate going to the osteo, just the sound of your own bones cracking some how gets into your ears and never comes out......hoping friday is more 'satisfying'!!

  16. oh ouch!!
I'm so glad that my back pain is more easily fixed by truckloads of painkillers and resting flat on my back with pillows under my knees to raise the legs to a 90* angle, if you can picture that, I'm bent like half a swastika. No osteopath is getting his hands on me!
