I dropped them at school and called The Builder. We had one of those 'good grief, how wet is it?' kind of chats.
I went to a cafe, and was asked if I'd removed my flippers at the door.
I ran into a friend I hadn't seen for ages. Opening gambit: "Nice weather for ducks!" (Yes, really.)
I called a contact from the car. "Is it pouring in your neck of the woods?" (Sorry, I can't help it.)
I went home and decided I would not post a Facebook update about the weather. And I didn't. Well, not really...
Then I went out into the backyard. And discovered a river running through it. And a frog pond that had grown to Olympic-pool-sized proportions.
So I gave up immediately, took the image you see with my little duck friend, and decided if you can't beat them, join them.
How about this weather???????
*Just a reminder to all friends of Fibro that we are holding a live Facebook chat with the fabulous Graeme Simsion, best-selling author of The Rosie Project, tomorrow night (Tuesday 25 June) at 8pm. All questions about writing, reading and books welcome. Come one, come all! Details here.
It is absolutely freezing here. We are still in single digits! It's overcast and so dull and lifeless. Great weather for being in bed...if only...
ReplyDeleteYes, if we could all just stay in bed, winter would be so much better!
DeleteIt is so cold here we can't think of anything else - fashion is weather related, food is weather related, cabin fever etc...
ReplyDeleteThat's the trouble - the weather impacts EVERYTHING!
DeleteWeather-talk is inescapable today! A spontaneous lake has formed in my garden near the chook pen! I think we're obsessive about the weather as we're spoilt for sun - if it rains for more than two days we feel a little indignant and hardly done by :) (imagine living in the UK where it drizzles 24/7?!)
ReplyDeleteI lived in London for a few years and, yes, the incessant grey and drizzle drove me crazy. There, you have to just get on with it. Ah, but when it snows - well, the whole town closes down.
DeleteForget the weather - you said "good grief" in an actual conversation?? Good grief!!! x
ReplyDeleteSo 'nice weather for ducks' is okay, but 'good grief' attracts mirth??? Good grief!!!!
DeleteI wish it would rain here! It's entirely too hot.
ReplyDeleteIts totally chuck a sickie weather ... oh yeah thats right, Mums dont get sickies :)
ReplyDeleteI might be the only one saying it but I LOVE RAIN! I wish it would rain here more. So does my three-year old. Then she would spend all her time "jumping up and down in MUDDY PUDDLES" ;)
