Friday is here. I have uncapped a beer. Let's give a cheer. That I do not write poetry for a living...
This week, Fam Fibro has been all about the renovations, the general chaos of moving to my parents' house for a few weeks while it all goes on (thanks Mum and Dad!), and wondering why we're doing this to ourselves. A few other things that came up...
Writing, book edits, real people, questions, Robin Hood, Wi-Fi, banks, arrows, scooters, dressing gowns, food diaries, centimetres, chest infections, antibiotics, temperatures, Fireman Sam, Superman, clutter, schedules, passwords, soccer training, paint colours... That's about it. We really are very focussed. Aren't you glad you don't live next door?
What did you talk about this week?

Let me guess: your ma and pa don't have WiFi? My mum doesn't either. I didn't realise how attached I was to my Macbook until I tried blogging from my mum's ancient PC with dial up connection. Blurg.
ReplyDeleteWe talked about hospital visits, grommets, infections, swimming lessons, The Block, sofa beds, interrupted sleep, and timing of renovation.
Baking for the school fair, attending the school fair (which has a bar where parents can recover after a day with too many kids, rides and sugar), entertaining a sick 6 year old, who came down with a virus post school fair, for three days while I attempted o blog. Quiet weekend ahead. Thank goodness - enjoy yours and hope the rennos go well.
ReplyDeleteOur canola crop and all the tunnels the kids made in it, the weather (cos we farm so we always talk about the weather!!), getting the car serviced, the garden, skip bins and the urgent need we have for one, the riots in London, the economy and what to have for dinner.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the renovations. Moving out for the duration is an excellent plan.
This week was all about the Foo Fighters, the coming semi-finals for big boys' league teams, beados, raspberry ice puddings, butterfly cakes, why are the twins waking us up at night again? When can we get away for a weekend? Let's have a quiet weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed in the house during major renos and it was murder! Great idea to move out.
I love this. Sorry @StylingYou, but a BAR at the school fair. Which school? I need to send my kids there pronto.
ReplyDeleteAlso loved the Canola tunnels. @A Farmer's Wife
One week, so many different subjects...
Love that cartoon Robin Hood movie its a childhood fave :)
ReplyDeletehmmm this week for us
anniversary lunch arrangements, water pumps, money :/ , about what friends are up to, burritos...
my mind is blank... how do you remember! lol
Uhm I am seconding Allison on where is this school fair with the BAR? We'll be moving to that district ASAP.
ReplyDeleteAh the nostalgia.I remember leaving our home round this time last year for the same reason. Aren't parents great? And this week I don't think I've spoken in coherent sentences. So jet lag has been a key feature needless to say.....
ReplyDeleteYou may not be a poet, but you are indeed a comedian :-)
ReplyDeleteThis week my head had been buried in selection criteria. It is the longest and most painful job application I've ever written. I've topped 5000 words. My responses to criteria aren't that extensive, its just there there are soooo many of them, and each criteria contains its own little set of complexities.
I need to finish it today because I need my life back.
I see a requirement for red wine in my very near future...
Sounds like a nightmare @Tenille. Hope you get to that red wine soon... er, but not too soon.
ReplyDeleteHello my friend Allison! Always nice to come back to read your beautiful article. Very understandable , simple and elegant. I wish a excellent weekend for you, with very smiles and peace! Visit me too. Greetings from Rio de Janeiro/Brasil.
ReplyDeleteWe talked and talked during our visit with friends who live in a lighthouse on Lake Superior: could we surf the waves on the Lake ; zip-lining- to do or not to do- that was the question (I didn't); favorite stories of favorite pet dogs ; how to protect favorite pet dogs from the wolves next winter; how to roast a perfect marshmellow;helping the younger ones to recognize poison ivy ; how to make supper with the six fresh whitefish ....and that was day one.
